Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or also known as Coban Sewu is a tourist attraction located in Sidomulyo Village, Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency, about 47 km south of Lumajang. Tumpak Sewu means a waterfall that stacks up to a thousand. Its height reaches 120 meters and the flow of the waterfall resembles a stretch of curtain. This kind of flow pattern is caused by the condition of the waterfall which is wide and multi-layered. When viewed from a distance, this curtain-like flow of water is very similar to the Niagara flow pattern. This waterfall site was formed in a watershed area called the Glidih River where the water source comes from Mount Semeru.

To arrive at the central location of this waterfall is not easy. You have to pass through a steep track because you have to go through a valley as deep as 800 meters. There are some paths in the form of stairs and some are in the form of ordinary footpaths. When it rains, this path will be slippery. So, you have to be careful. After arriving in the valley, you will meet a new challenge, shallow a river until you finally arrive at a waterfall.

Around the waterfall there is a hill which is often the location point to see the beauty of this waterfall. The top of the hill has been paved so it is very comfortable for tourists. On the same hill has also been equipped with a viewing post (Gardu Pandang) in the form of a building with an area of 30 square meters. This building is usually a favorite spot for visitors who are reluctant to go down near the waterfall.

One of the interesting spots for tourist is the Tumpak Sewu waterfall valley, here visitors can see how magnificent the curtains of this waterfall are. Plus, it’s fun to hear the echo of your own voice when you scream. This is different from watching the waterfall from the Gardu Pandang, from here visitors can feel the sensation of splashing water directly from the waterfall. But not only waterfalls, here there is also a cave called Bidadari Cave. This Bidadari Cave is usually used to worship or meditate according to certain beliefs. Even so, general visitors can also enter it.
