Mount Ijen is a mountain with a height of 2,386 meters above sea level, this mountain also a tourist destination in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province. Mount Ijen has fairly easy road access to reach its last vehicle stop post or well known as the Paltuding post. The local government has prepared road infrastructure from Banyuwangi City to Paltuding Post with smooth asphalt road contours and it takes about 1 hour driving time from Banyuwangi City.
 
The hiking distance from the Paltuding post to the summit is about 3.4 km. Visitors have to hike on foot to reach the top. The distance has been calculated according to the bends traversed during the trip. This distance has not been added to the distance from the summit down to the crater which is about 700 meters. Then the distance from the summit to the sunrise spot is about +1 kilometer. The traversed terrain of the road is the red contour soil with a little sand. The road area ranges from 1.5 to 3 meters and there are some roads with ravine on its left and right sides. Use sandals or trekking shoes with a rough bottom texture to reduce the risk of slipping. Since hiking activities are carried out in the middle of the night, lighting equipment such as flashlights has a vital role.
 
There are at least three main attractions in mount Ijen. Starting with the Blue Fire phenomenon, which is a blue fire that commonly appears in the middle of sulfur mining. Blue Fire itself can be seen in the early hours of the morning until 5 am. Not only for local tourists, this phenomenon is also in great demand by foreign tourists. Mount Batur is a very popular active volcano in Bali.
